Photographing my sweet new nephew’s newborn session was extra special for so many reasons. His mom, my sister, is also our office manager, so this little guy has already been part of our everyday world long before he arrived. We spent so much time talking through baby names while we waited for him, so finally getting to meet him and photograph this season was extra special.

He’s growing bigger every single day and already starting to show off a little personality of his own, which makes this stage even more fun to watch. And of course, big sister Tessa is so proud. She was the sweetest helper and I know those two are going to be stirring up some trouble before long! ;)

There’s just something so special about watching your family grow, and I feel so lucky to capture these memories for the people I love most. I already can’t wait to watch him grow and see who he becomes.

Brodie's 8 Months Already! Baby Session - Breese, Illinois

Brodie’s 8-month session was full of smiles, splashes, and so much personality! From playing with yellow rubber ducks and bubbles to sweet moments with his family and big sister, every part of this session was filled was so sweet!

One of the things we love most about photographing Brodie is how much he reminds us of his big sister when we documented her Complete First Year journey a few years ago. It's such a privilege to watch this family grow and to capture these milestones along the way.

We always love spending time with this wonderful family and can't wait to see what awesome idea (his mom has the best!) or adventures the next session brings!

One Year of Bowen! First Birthday Session - Breese, Illinois

It's hard to believe Bowen is already one!

We've been photographing this sweet family for years—even before Bowen arrived—and it's been such a joy watching their family grow. From his newborn session to now, Bowen has been one of the happiest babies we've ever photographed. His big smiles, contagious laugh, and signature tongue-out grin made every session fly by. When you come from a big family, you learn to go with the flow. And Bo’s got that down!

More than anything, it's obvious how much he loves his mom and big brothers and sisters. The way he lights up around them is something special.

We can't believe we've reached the one-year session already. We have one final session left in Bowen's Complete First Year package—his family session—and we can't wait to celebrate this sweet family one more time.

The Davis Family - Maternity Session - Breese, Illinois

Irreplaceable … That’s how I would describe these images.

Some of you might recognize Morgan, our Office Manager (and my sister). When she asked me about doing maternity photos for their second child they were in the process of selling their home. Their first home together, the place they got engaged and where they brought home their first baby. So, taking the photos at their home for the last time was a must.

We photographed the session at all their favorite spots - the steps, the barn, the front porch, the tire swing grandpa hung up. The places that held so many ordinary moments that eventually became the memories they'll cherish forever.

The very next day, they closed the chapter on that property, packed up the house that had been the backdrop to so many milestones, and stepped into a brand-new season of life. Just a short time later, they welcomed their second sweet baby into the world.

It's easy to think of photographs as images, but sessions like this remind me they're so much more than that. They're a way of holding onto a season that's about to change. A way to remember the home, the anticipation, the excitement, and the family as it was in that exact moment.

You can buy a new house. You can move to a new town. Life will keep moving forward. But you can never recreate this chapter exactly as it was.

So, like I said … irreplaceable.

Kate - 3 Year Session - Breese, Illinois

Some sessions are extra special, and this one definitely falls into that category. Not only was I photographing a very spirited three-year-old, but she also happens to be my niece.

I knew she would bring all the energy, personality, and spunk that makes her so uniquely her and she did just that! Three is such a fun age—full of independence, imagination, and just a little bit of mischief—and she embodies every bit of it.

One of my favorite things is her flower backdrop - We started this at her newborn session and have used the same backdrop and chair throughout her Complete First Year and 1st, 2nd and now 3rd birthdays! Wild to see how she’s grown!

Jordan + Jensen - Engagement Session, Breese IL

Some sessions just feel effortless, and this was one of them.

We spent the afternoon on his family's farm, surrounded by wide open fields, gorgeous light, and two people who were completely at ease together. They were so natural that I genuinely could have photographed them all day!

Between the many beautiful areas to photograph and the most adorable couple who definitely went all in, we had the best session as a result!
