2013 Junior Model Shoot [Clinton County Illnois Senior Photographer]

We planned for months, sent out a casting call and received tons of responses. We sorted through, drew names, and here they are - The 2013 Junior Models. This shoot was a big deal to us - I, Hillary, have been doing this (and by this, I mean dressing my friends up and photographing them) for years. I literally use to invite my friends over for sleepovers, knowing we were going to play "fashion shoot". And, like I said on Premiere night, here we are 15 years later, still doing it. And still loving every second. Afer we announced who would be our Junior Models, we held a Model Meeting. At this meeting we told them what it was all about and how the shoot would go. The day of the shoot, hair and make-up was completely provided by Perfectly Polished Salon (We can't say enough good things about them, we seriously love them to peices). We had the girls bring multiple outfits and Amy, our Creative Director, and I sorted through the many duffel bags and laundry baskets to coordinate the perfect outfits. What we ended up with is even better than we imaginged.

After styling, hair and make-up, we took the girls to an outdoor location, where a dinner party was all set up for them. Although, we didn't have dinner, we had cupcakes. But, that's better, right? ;) The scene was complete with gold chairs, gold glitter vases, pink flowers, pink cupcakes, and even a gold chandelier which hung from the tree above. We photographed as the sun was setting and the light was perfect! We had all the moms carrying bags and holding reflectors as they watched the entire thing (THANK YOU, MOMS!!!!). It was truly something I'll never forget.

Then, we invited the girls back to the studio for PREMIERE NIGHT! Premiere night was everthing you'd expect. Lots of people, a red carpet (Well, ours was pink;)), door-greeters complete with a velvet rope, lots of cold drinks and shelves of amazing chocolate-covered snacks (Thanks Covered in Chocolate!) like strawberries, pretzels, oreo truffles and more. I spoke, gave out a few awards, and we dimmed the lights and watched the video we created that day. (Check it out here!) Then, we debuted the magazine and it was a total hit! I've always wanted to do a magazine (in keeping with my slight magazine addiction, as my husband) and I'm so happy to check that off my professional bucket list - We absolutely can't wait to do another! The magazine will be circulated around Clinton County so be sure to keep an eye out for it! Or, come on up to the studio and see it yourself :)

Check out a few images from the shoot - Full Gallery to follow soon!

Gratitude [Clinton County, IL Photographer]

Gratitude - It's a simple word, not said enough. When I think back on this last year, that's the only word that comes to mind. Well, that and a little bit crazy. But overall, just gratitude. I am so beyond thankful for the amazing people who we've been blessed to met and work with along this journey. To see something I dreamed of creating coming to life is.... well.... unreal. Again, gratitude. We're thankful for those who trusted us to take their portraits. In a world where everyone has a camera in their back pocket and snapshots are uploaded by the million to social media, it is truly humbling to see messages in our inbox and hearing the phone ring - Knowing that what we create here in our tiny studio is something more than a facebook upload- It's something we hope that families will pass down through generations and cherish as more than just paper, but a family heirloom and a positive experience.

From the bottom of our heart, Thank You.

For each new morning with it's light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and food, For love and friends, For everything Thy Goodness sends... Happy Thanksgiving.

xoxo, H & the Team

Courtney : Mater Dei Catholic High School [Clinton County IL Photographer]

Firstly, I am so happy to have gotten to spend time photographing Courtney! When we met earlier this year for her pre-session consult, she had lots of ideas in mind for her senior portraits; including softball, fall leaves and Busch Stadium. I'm so happy we were able to nail all three of those! And as an added bonus, Courtney's sweet daughter Avery came along for a few portraits, too! As I watched Courtney play with Avery and get her dressed, I noticed just how much she adores her just by the way they played together. And it's easy to see why - Avery is the sweetest, smiliest baby I've ever photographed! Courtney - What I've learned about you from the time we spent hanging out is that you are a strong, sweet and passionate. I know the future holds big things for you and we can't wait to see what you accomplish!

Emily : Wesclin High School [Clinton County Photographer]

Emily is such a fun, outgoing and talented girl! She has big goals (like med school!) and a kind heart and we know she'll go far in the future. I'm so happy that we were able to capture her senior portraits for her! We had a blast dancing in her gorgeous homecoming dress and finding fun and unique locations downtown. I really enjoyed spending time with her family as well! It's easy to tell how close they all are, which is fantastic!Emily - I'm looking forward to creating an awesome album for you and I know your new wall portrait is going to be beautiful! See you in just a few weeks!

Lauren - [Maternity]

When Lauren's sister called us to suprise her with a maternity shoot, we were so excited to be involved! We love working with Lauren at Perfectly Polished and I know she is going to have one very handsome, very spoiled baby boy! She's ready to go any day now and we're sending lots of good vibes her way for a quick, safe and easy delivery! Can't wait to meet that little man!xoxo, H.

Morgan + Alex [Engagement]

We absolutely love working with Morgan and Alex. It is so easy to see how much they love each other just in simple thing... Like, when he rubs her arms when she's cold, even though she never complained about being uncomforatble. Or, the way she calls him a peach when he helps her get ready. It's truly refreshing to see a couple call eachother "Pal" and you just know that they are more than in love, they are each other's best friend. And they are hilarious, plain and simple. We had a blast with Morgan and Alex and we absolutely can't wait for their wedding next year! :)))))) xoxo, h.
