Our studio prides itself on creating a one-of-a-kind experience for all our clients.
While we photograph a variety of life’s milestones, our specialty is senior girls. We are known for getting to know our clients so we can tailor their experience to their style, likes, etc - That’s how we can assure our clients that your portraits won’t look like everyone else’s! We are definitely not your run of the mill, traditional portrait studio. Our photographs are bold and vibrant, focusing on special moments as well as posed portraits.
Hillary Frost Photography is located at 641 North 4th St in Breese, Illinois - Next to Dairy King.
The studio opened in Breese in 2013, when Hillary discovered she was not the first in her family to run a business out of this location and the building underwent many renovations - To read more about that and see the before and after images, check out this blog post!
Our entrance and camera rooms boasts floor to ceiling windows where we frequently use the natural light to photograph our clients. Inside you will also find a large dressing room, complete with a hair and make-up counter where, should you choose, a professional stylist will create a flawless look for your portraits. Furthermore, our viewing room contains many sample products like wall portraits, albums and prints that you can browse through to find your perfect fit.
Amy, the Studio Manager and Creative Director, joined us part time in 2013 and full time in 2014. Although we’ve only worked together professionally for 3 years, we have been friends for over 10 years. Together, we are passionate about staying on top of industry trends and creating new and original ideas! In order to do so, we frequently travel across the country to learn from other industry leaders and professionals.
Owner and Lead Photographer
Long before becoming a professional photographer, everyone around me knew that was what was supposed to happen... except for myself. Truthfully, as a high school student choosing a college major, or a college student changing majors, it never occurred to me to choose photography. I always saw it as something fun and interesting - just a super fun summer job on the way to my “real” career - whatever that was. Fast forward through a cross country move, 4 changes of majors and a bachelor’s degree in social psychology before I realized what everyone else knew all along. As my husband and I were about to leave our first home in Southern California, I picked up an old Kodak camera to photograph what had become my favorite place in the entire world. I didn’t want to ever forget any tiny piece of the sandy streets and colorful panoramas that stole my heart and forever changed my views of the world.
Coming home that day, I never felt more like myself. Something inside of me clicked, and I knew I didn’t want to let it go. Together, we moved to Missouri to finish my husband’s last duty station as a US Marine. There is where my journey from photography lover to photography professional (and still lover) really began. I poured myself into any book, video, workshop, conference, online course and social media groups to learn everything I could. Slowly but surely, the pieces began to fall together that lead me to where I am today. Even the journey to playing host to our historic building felt like God was guiding me - but I’ll save that story for another day.
Hillary is a 28 year old wife and mother of two, residing in Aviston, Illinois. She is a graduate of Park University and a proud member of Professional Photographers of America and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International.
Manager and Creative Director
When I read “about me” sections I find myself more interested in the quirky details and funny stories rather than historical facts so let me begin with those. I’m happily married to the strangest man I have ever met and we are super excited (and slightly scared! ;)), to be expecting our first child this summer! We also have 2 dogs, Luke and Oakley, each having their own distinct personalities. Luke, the gentleman puppy, struggles with anxiety issues and Oakley wants all of the attention. I mean ALL of it. I like to think I’m the most normal one in the house.
I have a slight obsession with markers, treat myself to one tube of NARS lipstick a month, and frequently binge watch TV shows on Netflix. I make a mean grilled cheese and believe that pre-heating is merely a suggestion. I follow too many Instagram fashionista’s for my own good and dream of one day getting my hands on a pair Manolo’s. (I just hope Oakley doesn’t dream about the same thing)
Not many have the luxury of stumbling into their passion and landing their dream job but that is exactly what happened. I started out in the banking industry and made my way into the photography world completely by chance.
So what exactly is my role in your senior experience? First, I get to know you as an individual – your style, personality, likes & dislikes - and guide you through outfit and location options tailored to your individuality. There is nothing more fulfilling than a girl who I have come to know bursting with confidence and excitement and that is exactly what I am here to do. I can’t wait to get to know you, quirks and all, and put together a unique experience tailored to YOU!
